5/6 Social Studies
Welcome to my blog! My name is Gloriane Kubistal and I am teaching 5th and 6th grade social studies in room 206. This is my first year at QAS, but previously, I was working at NCA for the past 9 years teaching Social Studies and
ELA, so I am versed in the subject matter. I have always wanted to work in catholic schools. I attended Immaculate Conception from K-8 and then traveled the three blocks down Talcott to Resurrection for my highschool formation. The teachers and experiences I had in those two institutions set me on a path to be a Catholic educator myself. I have two children of my own now, one of which is starting his catholic education in kindergarten here this year, the other is not far behind.
I am excited for the students to get to know my teaching style and immerse themselves in history. I enjoy taking an inquiry stance in the classroom and learn through valuable discussion and hands on project based learning. It is my hope that all students walk away from my class with a new connection to history and a story to bring home.
