Fun With Matisse
In Matisse’s later life, he began making art with paper. He cut pieces of paper into organic shapes and arranged them to make many abstract pieces. This is very easy to do and requires little supplies.
All you need is: scissors, glue and paper.
Children will cut paper into geometric or organic shapes and glue onto paper to make an image or an abstract piece. They could use strictly warm or cool colors to make it more challenging.
A great companion piece to this project is the book, Henri’s Scissors, by Jeanette Winter. This can be found on Amazon.
