Coming Soon/Start Preparing

  1. We will be doing a talent show on Flipgrid next week. Think about which of your talents you would like to share with the class and start practicing. You do not have to participate in the talent show if you do not want to showcase one of your talents.
  2. Even though this is a rough time for us, you have been given the opportunity to witness history being made. After Spring Break, you will be interviewing someone in your house about the experience. Think about what you would like to ask that person. If you haven’t already started a diary of what is going on, start one. Try to think about the last two weeks to include what happened during that time as well in your diary. Think about what you will tell your kids about this time in history.

Welcome to fourth grade! I look forward to working with you and your child this year. In fourth grade, independence, responsibility, and organizational skills will be encouraged to prepare the students for the upper grades. Students will be learning how to self-monitor their own learning process. The students will be working on identifying when they need help and what to do if they are struggling. At times, the students will work with me on deciding tests dates and what works best for them in classroom.

I look forward to a great year here at Queen of All Saints. I will strive to create an environment that is challenging and fun. I also look forward to getting to know you and your child as the year progresses. Please feel free to contact me by email if you have any questions.

10/23/19 Update

Greetings!

This week has been a crazy week so far with schedule changes every day! We had practice Aspire Testing on Monday and Tuesday. Today, we have mass as a school family. Friday, we have our field trip. Please remember, for the field trip, to dress in layers with long pants and gym shoes. We will be outside. Lots of prayers for good weather are needed! Lunches must be completely disposable. No money or electronics are allowed on the trip.

Today, students will be bringing home their E-Learning Folders in case we have any emergency closings this year. Please put these in a safe place. Students will be required to complete the work and return it to me on the day school resumes.

School pictures will be coming home today as well. Lots of smiles and happy faces!

As a homeroom, we reached a class goal today! It is exciting! Everyone in class, including me, has read 10 books so far this year. Students received a book today for their accomplishment. A few students already read the book so their book will be coming in our next Scholastic Book Order. The students also won a movie for their celebration. Hopefully, we will be able to watch it after our field trip on Friday.

There are not any tests or quizzes this week. The students have been working hard on their scary stories. They can't wait to read them by the "campfire" on Halloween. I hope they are not too scary!!

Have a great week!
Sherry Penkala
