4th Grade - Room 5

Academic Eligibility

With the start of a new trimester, we wanted to remind you that we will be following the academic eligibility rule for students to maintain a “C” or above in all core subjects.

Per the QAS Handbook:

"Queen of All Saints School requires that each student have a C average in each core curriculum class per week to be eligible for athletics and co-curricular activities. Teachers will review and document a student’s performance each THURSDAY while his/her sport or activity is in season and while school is in session. If a student’s grade falls below a C, a two week warning notice will be sent home so that the student has the opportunity to improve his/her grades.

If a student is declared ineligible, after the two week warning, his/her ineligibility will be a minimum of ONE WEEK beginning on a Friday and concluding the following Thursday. A STUDENT WHO HAS BEEN DECLARED ACADEMICALLY INELIGIBLE MAY NOT ATTEND PRACTICES, GAMES, MEETINGS, REHEARSALS, OR PARTICIPATE IN GAMES OR ACTIVITIES FOR THE ARTS, ATHLETICS, ORGANIZATIONS AND PUBLICATIONS."

**If a student has a support plan, we will handle each student individually.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Collins at [email protected] - Thank you.

Welcome to fourth grade!

I look forward to getting to know my students and their families and forming a partnership with you this year in order to best meet the needs of your child. Please email me with any questions at any time or when potential problems arise. It is easier to handle them right away.

This year your child will be using Chromebooks and Google Classroom to prepare for the upper grades. They will also be using several educational websites to enhance the curriculum. I will be spending the first couple of weeks helping your child to become familiar with all the technology we will be using.

Your child should come to school each day with two water bottles (one for the morning and one for the afternoon). They will also need to have earbuds/headphones that they can leave at school. Lunches and snacks need to be peanut/tree nut free. Students will be allowed to eat a healthy snack in the morning starting next week.

If you child is sick, please keep them home for everyone's safety (including your child's). Please remember to fill out the Absence Form under the Health & Safety tab on the school website.

I will do my best to make this school year a year of growth that is fun, safe, and challenging for your child.

Warm Regards,

Ms. Penkala
