5/8 E-Learning (Grades K-3)

Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Graders did a great job making observations of planet Earth just like scientists do. There was some great collaboration and creativity from those of you who took on the Earth Day Engineering Design Challenge. I'm so glad the students are sharing STEM with their families.

This week we are putting our architect and engineer hats on to determine which shape to use to build the strongest structure. See the attached for directions or access the assignment in the STEM & Music Seesaw Account.

As always, if you are looking for an extra challenge see the Engineering Design Challenge posted under the E-Learning assignment for Grades 4-8.

Have a great week!

Earth Day E-Learning Grades K-3

I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing Easter break.

April 22, is Earth Day! The weather is warming up so let's get outside and learn about our wonderful planet Earth. Students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade can play some Nature Bingo while exploring outside. Parents, an email was sent with a Home Learning Code for the STEM and MUSIC Seesaw account. The assignments will also be posted in Seesaw and the students can submit their photos and completed bingo cards there.

Students who are up for a greater challenge, check out the Earth Day Engineering Design Challenge under the 4-8 assignment below! The Earth Day Engineering Design Challenge has also been posted in Seesaw.

Earth Day E-Learning Grades 4-8

I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing Easter break.

April 22 is Earth Day! Let's celebrate by completing another Engineering Design Challenge.

Students in grades 4-8 can choose between completing the Earth Day Design Challenge, a 3D model of planet Earth using Tinkercad, or earth day related activities on code.org or Scratch (see links below). I would love to see what you are working on. Submit your finished projects under classwork in your STEM google classroom.

Engineering Design Challenge

Students, let's teach our families about the Engineering Design Process! See attached for a challenge or spend some time using the coding tutorials on code.org. Feel free to send me an email with any questions or to just let me know what you are working on. I would love to talk STEM with you! Have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine.

Coding Camp for 6th and 7th Grade Girls!

At Home STEM and Enrichment Packet

I hope everyone is doing well. I've attached a calendar that includes many of the activities we do in STEM class (K-8) plus a few new ones. There is also a calendar for Pre-K in case there are some siblings at home that are eager to participate. There are two versions that include online and offline activities. Students can keep track of the challenges they complete right on the calendar! Have fun and learn a little along the way!

E-Learning for STEM

Kindergarten-1st Grade Students can practice their typing and mouse skills with these free resources we have used in class.

2nd and 3rd Grade

2nd-8th Grade Students can work on their computer science coding and logic skills by completing leveled tutorials on code.org or Scratch and then try coding on their own. Both websites are free and accounts can be made so students can save their work.

5th-6th Grade (3rd and 4th could give it a try) Another free resource that we have used in class is Tinkercad. Students are able to draw and practice visualization in 3D.

Feel free to send an email with any questions.
