Today in ELA...
1. We discussed the important points in the summaries written for Chapter 3 pp. 37-47. The summaries were collected. Please turn in your summary if you are absent today.
2. We discussed Cherry's opinion of the Greasers, the difference between the Greasers and the Socs (acc to Cherry), Ponyboy's relationship with Darry, the meaning of "Things are rough all over" (Socs and Greasers perspectives) and literary devices at work - esp foreshadowing and similes.
3. We listened to / read pp. 47-52 and discussed character and plot development.
4. We started working on questions for Chapters 1-3; if you are absent the questions are attached to this post.
HOMEWORK-
REMINDER: our class next meets on Thursday, 5/1, due to Springfield trip on Wednesday, 4/30.
Complete questions #9, 2, 3, 4 from the Chapters 1-3 questions on a separate sheet of paper. (We will work on the other questions on Thursday in class.)
