Welcome Pre-K4

Mrs. Segreti's Pre-K4 Classroom
Room 4 (Keene Building)
Welcome to Pre-K 4! I am very excited for the 2023-2024 school year and look forward to working together with you and your child.  Social and Emotional Learning is very important in preschool and will be our main focus during the first few weeks of school in addition to helping your student get used to our routines and expectations.  Additionally, your child will learn through play and large and small group activities that will be a mixture of teacher-led and student-led lessons. These activities will help your child prepare for kindergarten as he or she will practice cutting, gluing, coloring, recognizing numbers and letters, and other pre-writing skills.
About Me
My name is Mrs. Loralee Segreti (not to be mistaken for our school secretary and my mother-in-law, Mrs. Ida Segreti) . I have been working with pre-school students at Queen of All Saints since 2010. When I started, there was only one teacher and one classroom!  It has been wonderful to see how much the program has grown and evolved over the years.  When I started, I didn't have any children of my own. Since then, I have gotten married and have had three children!  My oldest son is going into 4th grade and I have boy/girl twins entering into 2nd grade.

Throughout the month of October we have been studying pumpkins. Today we predicted how many seeds we would find inside of one of our smaller pumpkins and then we cut it open to find out if our predictions were correct. During small group time we scooped out some seeds and sorted them into piles of 10. Many skills were used during this activity. Tomorrow we will meet to find out how many seeds there were!

First Grade Reading Buddies

On Wednesday, October 18th we met with Ms. Love’s 1st grade class. The children got to meet Ms. Love and were paired up with her students. The 1st graders loved reading to the younger preschoolers. We look forward to getting together every other week. Today we met with Ms. Kuchuris’s 1st graders and we will meet Ms. Lindgren’s class next week.

During the month of September we learned about St. Michael the Archangel: Patron Saint of Police and colored some picture for some police officers in the community.
