Welcome to First Grade Room 14

I am excited to join the Queen of All Saints family this year!   This will be my sixteenth year of teaching.  I have spent three years as a full-time building substitute in Evanston K-5 public schools, and then received my first classroom position at Northside Catholic Academy where I taught first grade for seven years and third grade for four years.  Last year I taught third grade at a charter school and during that time decided my heart was with Catholic education.  I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Reading, as well as I'm a certified reading specialist.  I am happy to be returning to teaching first grade and to be at such a warm, welcoming school like Queen of All Saints.  I look forward to getting to know the students and parents during this year.

Sincerely, Mr. Jura

E-learning Days

Here is information about E-learning Days. I am going to use my teacher blog, SeeSaw, and Readworks to post assignments and to stay connected with the students. Please set up home access to SeeSaw if you have not done so yet. This will be an easy way to get you new activities. I will post activities on the blog also. Along the side will be different PDF resources you can use.  Use what you would like to and share though Remind and SeeSaw. Please let me know if you have any questions. Also, please use my class website for great links to educational websites.
