Mrs.Caluris Pre-Kindergarten 3

Hello & Welcome! We are super excited to be your child's preschool teacher. It is going to be a great year full of new friends, new discoveries, and fun learning. This is our sixth year teaching at Queen of All Saints School and we are really looking forward to meeting everyone! Thank you to everyone for signing up for the Remind app! This is another great way for us to communicate. Our class is on a day 2 gym schedule and our Spanish class will be on every Monday. Don't forget to sign up to become a Mystery Reader, we would love to see you! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email at scaluris@qasparish.org.

Many thanks from your preschool team, Mrs. Caluris & Ms. Palazzo

Our first week of school has been so much fun! We are getting used to routines, playing, and making new friends. We shared the story of the Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. We created a fun project where we added a cute poem with our handprint. Just like Chester the Raccoon, we then added a little red heart to show how much our families love us, especially when we are away at school. We have also practiced our ABC's and counting to 10. Keep up the good work! Next week we will begin with our letter of the week and start Magic Bag! I will be sending home and posting more information about this on Friday. Your homework assignment is to read, read, and read!
This week, we have been practicing prayers and tracing the letters of our name. We read the story Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and did a fun coconut tree craft to along with the story. These are displayed in our hallway and look wonderful! We also enjoyed reading Scholastic My Big World, Let's Start School! Everyone is getting used to our school routines and making new friends! Looking ahead to the week of September 9th, we will start Magic Bag. Students are asked to bring one object to school that starts with the letter A. We will be reading stories about apples and doing some related activities to reinforce the letter. Have a great weekend and don't forget to read, read, and read some more!

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day Weekend! It took a little while but it was great fun dropping off the Mother's Day gift planters. I am really fond of the sunflower seed. It grows beautifully in direct sunlight. As your sunflower grows over the summer, please measure the height and take a pic of it with your child. These are so great to look back on and see how to tall the sunflower and your child grew over the summer. Enjoy!

It was also great to play Zoom Bingo Happy Hour with our amazing Moms! Thanks to all who were able to make it!
