Homework/Test Routines
Religion: We will begin a new Religion chapter each week. On Thursday night the students will be expected to complete the test that is included in the packet as a homework assignment. It is an excellent way for the students to prepare for the in class test that will be recorded in Powerschool. The class test will be on Fridays.
Spelling: Students receive their spelling words on Monday morning; in the event of no school on Monday, students receive their words on Tuesday. Spelling tests will be on Fridays. In the event that we have a no school day on the Friday of a particular week, the test will occur on Thursday of that week. Students are encouraged to study their words nightly.
Reading:
Students are expected to read daily 20-30 minutes. Some of this time should be spent reading orally to an adult or to stuffed animals or in the mirror.
Each week the students will read from different genres of text. They will be expected to respond to each of these texts using written and oral responses. The students will be introduced to different vocabulary words that will increase their comprehension of the story.
