Students can:
- ask questions that can be investigated and predict reasonable outcomes; define a problem reflecting need or want considering available materials and resources
- generate and compare multiple solutions; identify limitations of models and use evidence-based reasoning to make adjustments
- plan and carry out fair tests where only one variable changes at a time; evaluate methods and tools
- analyze the data of test to identify the aspects of a model that can be changed and improved
- apply cross-curricular connections
- make adjustments and predictions based on observations and data to draw conclusions; compare predictions to what happened
- collaborate with others by following agreed upon rules for discussions and carrying out assigned roles; respect or build on other ideas
- persevere through tinkering; debug to find multiple solutions; take risks; remain engaged and keep trying
